Wrington Fair Week United Service on the Glebe field Sunday, 6th May, 2007 |
Despite early morning appearances, the sun shone brilliantly on a good-sized crowd who turned up for a united service to give thanks for the sense of community in Wrington, at the start of Fair Week 2007. The Rector conducted the service, music was provided by the Chapel music group, the School Choir led by Rachel Parkes, and the Wrington Gospel Choir directed by Alison Cooper. Prayers were led by Pauline & Tony Jefferies, and Fair Week Chair, Jenny Tarr and Richard Thorn gave bible readings. Guest speakers were the school Head, Jane Thomas, and former Head Paul Temple who described the achievements so far of the Luhimba Project, founded by Michael Carey to assist self-development work in the village in southern Tanzania.
Let's not forget the dedicated team who, bright and early (and windy) had struggled to ensure the music makers would be safe from the elements ... Photos kindly supplied by Jan Alcock
