Wrington Vale Choral Society gave the first full concert conducted by their new Musical Director, Graham Davies, in All Saints' church. The programme comprised Bruckner's Locus iste, Medelssohn's Lord, in thy mercy and Hear my prayer, and movements from Haydn's Missa brevis St. Joannis de Deo. The soprano soloist, Belinda Evans, sang Handel's What passion cannot music raise and quell, Art thou troubled ? and Let the bright Seraphim, and Mozart's Laudate Dominum. She also sang the solo in Rutter's The Lord is my shepherd, with Hazel-Lea Wilson, solo oboe. Stephen Hollas accompanied on the organ | |||||||||||
The audience enjoyed a glass of wine during the interval, and gave a rousing response to the rector, the Rev Nicholas Maddock, when he thanked all the performers at the close. | |||||||||||
