Vera Perry's slide show
Tuesday, 18th February, 2003
Vera's two evenings of slides of Wrington old & new played to packed houses in the Reading Room.

Quite apart from the careful selection of slides - full of surprises - there was the vital preliminary of last-minute instructions for her projectionist, Pauline Wathen.
The slides covered the period from the 1950s until the present day, and, as usual on these occasions, Vera ensured most people would recognise most faces - even relative newcomers would know quite a few.

Her meticulous planning (the tickets useful here ?) meant that most of her audience, too, made at least one appearance.

And then ... the "light refreshments" ...
... and once the last crumb had been accounted for, and glass returned to the sink ....
... it was "quiet at the back ..." and Pauline recommenced her determined attempt to tame the - at times - recalcitrant projector.
