Wrington Web Archive Water competition prize-giving Friday, 16th May, 2003 |
Bristol Water ran a competition involving some 400 schools to see who could come up with the best piece of writing and the best picture about water. They wanted pupils to compare how well off we are for water, with people in other parts of the world who aren't so lucky. Two Wrington pupils won prizes - a 3rd prize worth £30 for a picture, and a 2nd prize of £50 for a piece of writing. |

Paul Kelson from Bristol Water came to present the prizes at the assembly after lunch
He showed everyone the winning entries, and read out the poem. Like the picture, it had really caught the point which the competition was making
And with some well-deserved applause ringing in their ears, the prize-winners had to meet the press
