I've just heard from Gary. Today they saw 2 enormous whales (or possibly the same whale twice). Apparently just the bit out of the water was longer than Coryphaena. At the second sighting they were woken up by the sound of it evacuating its blowhole.
He said that Sat and Sun they spent below with the hatches closed. To quote Gary, 'it was like being in a washing machine'. The waves were seriously big, and they recorded 13.4knots going down one wave (in Coryphaena we're usually delighted with 6 knots).
He sounded in good spirits, and still seems to be enjoying the experience. He is hoping to make Falmouth by the weekend, weather permitting. His trip won't end there as he will still have to get Coryphaena back to her home port of Dartmouth.
Their position at 07.00 this morning (Tues) was 45.15N 13.06W with 460 miles to go.

I have just spoken to Gary. Today is his birthday and our wedding anniversary, so it was especially good to hear from him. They have had a fantastic few days sailing. Tuesday and Wed they had the spinnaker up.
At the moment the AZAB site has them at 40 12N 22 22W at 07.00 this morning, with 944 miles to go.
Ayesha who they need to beat to win their class overall also had 944 miles to go at that time.
Fingers crossed!
