The December meeting, before which a welcome glass of punch was provided, began with Jerusalem, and a moment's silence for Mrs Sheila Lord. |

| The other preliminary was the important moment when president, Jan Alcock, handed over a cheque for £700 to Dr Ann Dent, a Wrington resident and trustee of Weston Hospicecare. The hospice had been the object of the charity jazz evening held on 13th October. Whilst thanking the branch Ann recalled the experience which had contributed to her own interest in hospice work as a nurse. Margaret Maggs receiving an award for her flower arranging. |
