The Memorial Hall was packed when the annual meeting was thrown open at 8pm to hear from a panel of speakers about the arrangements, current and planned, for providing out-of-hours cover for patients of Wrington Vale medical practice. |

They each explained from their professional points of view, the factors which had made change inevitable, and which were now governing the effective provision of out-of-hours care, the temporary arrangements in place, and the plans North Somerset Primary Care Trust hope to implement from January, 2005 to ensure a "robust and effective" service for the foreseeable future. | |||||||||
The speakers then took many questions from members of the audience on issues such as the present and future role of NHS Direct, and the factors bearing upon the effective care and reassurance of patients at a time of high stress throughout the 24 hours. Among the parish councillors present, the Chairman took the opportunity at the end to thank all those concerned in bringing the meeting about. |
