Tea-party 8th August

This event should have taken place in the beautiful surroundings of a Cox's Green garden, but, on the stroke of 3 o'clock, the appointed hour, the heavens opened, and everyone sought the shelter of the Reading Room ...

... a rapid change of strategy was organised on the catering front, even as the pacamacs were still arriving ...
... the organisation of the bring-and-buy continued as if nothing had happened ...

... and cups of tea began to be distributed ditto ...
... and the Treasurer on the door wasn't forgotten ...
... nor were the gents left out ...
... so all were well-suited, when Madam President made a bee-line for a certain party ...
... then stood back to reveal the nature of the gift, which, if it had been a cake ...
... could well have had 80 candles on it ..
... but was clearly much appreciated all the same.
