Wrington Women's Institute Events 2002 Tea-party 8th August |
This event should have taken place in the beautiful surroundings of a Cox's Green garden, but, on the stroke of 3 o'clock, the appointed hour, the heavens opened, and everyone sought the shelter of the Reading Room ... |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
... a rapid change of strategy was organised on the catering front, even as the pacamacs were still arriving ...
... the organisation of the bring-and-buy continued as if nothing had happened ... ... and cups of tea began to be distributed ditto ... |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
... and the Treasurer on the door wasn't forgotten ...
... nor were the gents left out ...
... so all were well-suited, when Madam President made a bee-line for a certain party ...
... then stood back to reveal the nature of the gift, which, if it had been a cake ...
... could well have had 80 candles on it ..
... but was clearly much appreciated all the same.
