Happy New Year and welcome back. We've enjoyed an extra few days of holiday so lots of time to enjoy the snow. Now though, let’s hope we can get back to some routine.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with PAWS, and for those who already support and use us, we thought this would be a good opportunity to bring your attention to a few changes for 2010.

Firstly, we now have two regular members of staff. Sarah Owen, who is our maternity cover Play Leader and Maxine Biggins, who is now our permanent Play Assistant.

We have kept fees the same for 2010 even though many costs have increased. However we have introduced a new rate from 1 February.

Our fee structure is:
3.15pm -
4.15pm £4.50 - includes fruit snack
3.15pm - 6.00pm £9.50 - includes healthy hot tea
3.15pm - 6.00pm £7.00 sibling rate for second child in same session

2010 NEW RATE 4.15pm - 6.00pm £7.00 includes healthy hot tea.

We've had feedback that this new rate may help parents who have a child in one of the many after-school clubs (art club, football, environmental club etc.) but who find it hard to pick up by 4.15pm.

A new menu is available this term and is in line with the school's hot lunches and healthy eating policy. A copy can be picked up from PAWS or the school office.

The club is run Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons, is OFSTED approved and offers a good variety of fun, supervised activities for children of all years. This term, with Spring just around the corner, there will be the opportunity for the children to take
part in card-making for Valentine's Day, planting bulbs for the spring, cake making and many more enjoyable activities.

Pre-bookings are done monthly but we are always happy to take children on a last-minute basis, subject to availability. Just call 07786 057440.

To take advantage of the facilities offered by the club, you will just need to register (if you're not already) and pay a small registration fee to cover admin and insurance. Ask at the
school office for a registration form or call in and see Sarah at PAWS in the school hall from 3.15pm any day except Fridays. We look forward to seeing our familiar faces again this
term and we hope to see some new ones too.

We are an after school club dedicated to providing high quality care on the school premises for children whose parents are unable to collect them at normal school finishing time. We are a non-profit making organisation led by a committee of parents. We are fortunate to have a very highly regarded and valued team of carers .

We have recently been inspected by Ofsted and are delighted to announce that our results were excellent. The overall standard of care was judged to be good and some aspects were deemed outstanding. Indeed the verbal feedback indicated that it was rare to see a club with such high standards.

Of course the real test of quality is how the children feel about their club! With comments like 'Oh can't I stay until the end' and 'Can I go to PAWS tonight Mum!' who needs professional reports?

We would also be interested in hearing from anyone who might be interested in being a paid helper at the club from time to time. This would be subject to an interview and full CRB checks.
