As the race hotted up between the heat of the sun and the appetite of the revellers, to see who would be first to finish off the jaffa cakes ... | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
.... a few memories from half a century ago were dug out and held up to the light of day ... | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
.... but anyone spotting what the chairman of the Parish Council was carrying, wasn't surprised ... | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
.... when he upped and made a little speech ... | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
.... which ended with him presenting a jubilee mug to the Head - a token of what was to be given to every pupil in the school ... | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
.... and this courtesy from the parish council was matched by the pupils who called for three cheers for all those who'd provided the tea ... | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
.... and three for Her Majesty - and one for luck ! | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
All of which just left - inevitably - the clearing up | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
