Broad Street Wrington ARCHIVE
1895 Sale Prospectus

The following pages were digitally photographed from one of the few remaining copies - this one kindly loaned by Nick Baker of Lower Stock Farm - of the prospectus of the sale of the Wrington Estate on 25th - 26th April, 1895.

They provide evidence of a community made up of a cluster of farms, just a few of which survive to this day.

The photographs make it possible to compare views from the same spot today - click on the icon which appears on some pages.

Despite the obvious differences, there are enough similarities to show how far the village's distinctive character has survived the passage of over a century.

Many places not very far away would no doubt like to be able to say the same.

The reproduction has involved an inevitable trade-off between retaining the very high quality of the originals, and avoiding too great download times.
