All Saints', Wrington
Farewell, O false Acacia ...
Friday, 9th November, 2007

An old familiar tree disappeared this week from the churchyard. Every five years professional tree surgeons carry out a tree survey. This year most of the trees were found to be healthy though some needed their crowns raising and/or cable braces added.

Sadly, the false acacia on the north side of the church, which was heavily braced five years ago, had deteriorated and become dangerous. The main trunk had split and there were large areas of decay.

The Friends of Wrington Churchyard, very kindly agreed to meet two-thirds of the substantial cost - getting on for £3,000.
