The 9.30 service on Advent Sunday 2006 was distinguished by introducing for the first time 5 young people over the age of 7 years, but as yet unconfirmed, to be formally admitted to taking communion. The importance of the occasion was underlined by having as guest preacher, Jane Whitcombe,the Bath & Wells diocesan children's adviser. |

| During Advent funds are raised by a bring and buy cake stall after the 9.30 service in aid of the Church Army and the Weston Winter Warmth project. Ellie Thomas sold 60 of her cakes, but saved a specially marked one for the rector. |
