All Saints', Wrington Church Crawl to East Brent |
On Wednesday, 2nd August, 2002, our objective was an evening trip down to St Mary's at East Brent |
An
outstanding feature of St Mary's is its
including gallery, pews, |
superb Jacobean woodwork - lectern and pulpit |
East Brent is proud of its reputation as the instigator of Harvest Home suppers, and one of our guides this evening herself created the Harvest Home banner in St Mary's |
She and another former churchwarden gave us our usual fascinating introduction to the church's history and layout ..... |
..... and we were delighted when they joined us for our customary saying of Compline |
We were especially fortunate with the site for our picnic afterwards, thanks to the hospitality unexpectedly afforded us by the proprietor of Rossholm School, whose grounds adjoin the church |
